冬に入る頃、十鳥ヶ淵緑道のさくらが剪定されます。そのさくらの枝を原料にして染色したハンカチーフを作りました。
この自然な色合いや優しい風合いに触れていただくことによって、さくらへのより深い関心をおもちいただくきっかけになればうれしい限りです。
Sakura(cherly‐ blossolns)of Chidori‐ ga‐ Fuchi moats in the center of Chiyoda City, Tokyo have attracted many admirers. Two hundred young cherry trees were planted 50 years ago by Chiyoda City and today one can find more than 40 varieties of Sakura there.
In the course of those years, the cherry trees have grown old, and have been exposed to adverse environmental attacks.
To protect the beauty of Sakura, a group of Sakura supporters was organized in 2004. The Sakura Foundation was formed and the Sakura Study Group came into existence.

1) サクラの枝 剪定の様子
春の開花に備え、初冬に千鳥が淵緑道のさくらが剪定されます。
Before winter, branches of the cherry trees are pruned to prepare for spring Sakura. In order to obtain the dye, Ipick up the waste branches that fall on the ground.
2) サクラの枝を譲り受けました
I got branches from gardener.
The branches are then cut up and boiled.
3) いただいた枝を
煮て染色液を
つくります。
Cut up and boiles branches.
From these branches I extract the natural, non-chemical dye.
